WE LEAD ADVOCACY CAMPAIGNS to incorporate standards based music study into the DCPS required curriculum, to fund city-wide summer band camps, and to restore DC school bands and other performing ensembles.

WE ORGANIZE FREE ONGOING IN-SCHOOL MUSIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS THAT ARE INTEGRATED INTO CURRICULA.

WE PROVIDE AFTER-SCHOOL MUSIC INSTRUCTION for which we recruit qualified volunteer music educators and assistants for unfunded programs, and provide paid professional instructors for funded programs.

WE OFFER FREE MUSIC AROUND THE WORLD LIVE PERFORMANCES to DC public and public charter schools and in libraries and other public venues and produce them for airing on DC Public Access TV.

WE FACILITATE JOINT MUSIC PROJECTS BETWEEN SCHOOLS to create connections between schools with different demographics and between those that feed into each other.

WE ORGANIZE FREE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS for DCPS music and classroom teachers.

WE PARTNER WITH MENTORING ORGANIZATIONS TO PREPARE AND TAKE STUDENTS TO MUSIC PERFORMANCES, FOR WHICH WE PROVIDE FREE TICKETS.

WE SOLICIT DONATIONS OF NEW AND USED INSTRUMENTS in our Band Aids for DC Public Schools campaign.

WE FORM PARTNERSHIPS AND COALITIONS with arts, school, parent, religious and other community organizatioins.

WE PARTICIPATE ON COMMITTEES AND TASKFORCES THAT ADDRESS BROADER ARTS, EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL ISSUES THAT MUSIC EDUCATION CAN BE RELATED TO.
